Trickery with Vickery

As part of the ‘There’s an Adventure Brewing’ campaign, we created a Rugby Adventure featuring England World Cup winning legend, Phil Vickery. Our social film series targeted beer and rugby fans, offering the chance to join Phil on a special adventure at Twickenham Stadium.

CHALLENGE
Rugby has always been a part of Sharp’s heritage with their rugby ties down in Cornwall. Our challenge was to create rugby-themed social content worthy of being talked about. Something that was unique to Sharp’s – capturing the fun, adventurous and Cornish side of their brand.

IDEA
We knew that rugby fans were a competitive bunch. They also liked a bit of a laugh when they socialised too. So we created a series of films with Cornish rugby legend Phil Vickery where he challenged a rugby team to complete some rugby trick shots using a pitch, a ball and various Sharp’s beers.

IMPACT
The ‘Trickery with Vickery’ series ran on both Facebook and Instagram. It was Sharp’s most successful content, getting an organic reach of 40k. Due to the success, we also used the content for a targeted campaign on Facebook aimed at rugby lovers who are likely to love Sharp’s beers – helping to build their legion of fans.
